Shri. P. Parameswaran, President of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, is a scholar, a great thinker and social worker. He had a distinguished academic career. His chief interest was in Social Sciences, mainly History, in which he did his post-graduation with distinction.
From early childhood he he had a great inclination towards the study of Hinduism. He was intimately connected with most of the Hindu social and cultural organizations, particularly with Sri. Ramkrishna Mission and Rashtirya Swamyamsevak Sangh.
He is wholly devoted to social service. He worked in as its Organising Secretary in Kerala and rising to the position of its All-India Vice-President. He has been ceaselessly writing articles and books on social, cultural and religious themes.
For four years - 1977-1981, he was Director of the Deen Dayal Research Institute, Delhi. In that capacity, he was responsible for a number of publications of a high academic standard. He had also edited the prestigious Quarterly, Manthan.
In 1982, he started the Bharateey Vichar Kendram, a Centre for studies in national reconstruction, with Thiruvanathapuram as its headquarters, of which he is the Director. The Vichar Kendram has many units in Kerala.
Sri. Parameswaran's Editorials published in Yuva Bharati, a Monthly of Vivekananda Kendra, have been widely lauded by readers. He has been authored many books.
